What is the Green Office?
The Green Office is the central point of contact on campus for students and staff when it comes to sustainability. It networks activities, coordinates the Green Teams, and helps to establish a culture of sustainability at the University of Hohenheim. The Green Office organizes various events on the topic of sustainability.
How to reach the Green Office
The Green Office is generally staffed during the week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., unless we are elsewhere on campus. You are also welcome to drop by outside of these hours and drop in when someone is there!
You can also reach us reliably by email. You are welcome to make an appointment with us by email if you want to make sure that you will see us.
We are constantly implementing ideas for the Sustainable University in five Green Teams. Anyone at the University of Hohenheim can join the teams. Would you like to play an active role in shaping the sustainable development of the university? Do you have good ideas on how we can make the university even more sustainable? Do you want to promote a culture of sustainability? Then join one of the Green Teams!
Each Green Team usually meets at least three times per semester in the Green Office. You can find the dates of our meetings under the respective Green Team below and under Events.
We are committed to even more education for sustainable development at the university and are working, for example, on organising a sustainability lecture series or more attractive outdoor learning and recreation areas.

We make the university's diverse sustainability research more visible and promote sustainable research in keeping with environmentally and socially compatible research operations. This is done, for example, with sustainability activities in the laboratory or through projects for sharing research resources.

More information on the university's activities in the field of research
We are committed to more sustainable campus operations. To this end, we are advancing measures on the topics of mobility, biodiversity, climate adaptation, and climate protection with the aim of improving the university's greenhouse gas balance and making the campus more liveable.

We are working on consistently anchoring sustainability in the university's structures and processes and implementing the “whole institution approach.” One example is measures to anchor the topic of sustainability in the onboarding process for new employees. The meetings of the “Governance & Structure” Green Team take place together with the “Culture & Transfer” Green Team.

Living sustainability is a question of culture! We implement measures that promote a culture of sustainability at the university. To this end, we work in networks and organise events.
